    A rock-solid chain

    Step 1. Production

Our breeders, both in-house and contracted, provide top-notch care to the mother birds. They adhere to strict quality standards like IKB Kip, Belplume, and QS.

    Step 2. Collecting and sorting

Our breeders collect, inspect, and sort the hatching eggs with care. Each egg is also coded for full traceability.

    Step 3. Pick up

We pick up the hatching eggs from the breeding farms three to four times a week using climate-controlled vehicles.

    Step 4. Packaging

The eggs reach our packaging centre. With three separate centres in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, Lafaut can keep delivering even during bird flu outbreaks.

    Step 5. Final check

At the packaging centre, we perform a final check, then package the eggs and handle all the necessary transport and customs paperwork.

    Step 6. (Intercontinental) transport

We deliver the hatching eggs to customers using climate-controlled vehicles or ship them to airports throughout Europe for international transport.

"The hatching eggs we either produce ourselves or source from meticulously chosen breeders are also used in our own hatcheries. This ensures that you receive only the highest quality eggs."

    High-Quality Breeders

We select parent animals with strong genetic traits as the foundation for our top-quality hatching eggs. Lafaut and our Western European partners mostly use the Ross breed, known worldwide for their steady performance. The right climate conditions, balanced diets, careful health management, and strict biosecurity help make our hatching eggs highly valued.

    Hygienic Conditions

All hatching eggs are carefully checked in our packaging centres in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. This is done under secured, hygienic conditions. We pack them according to your specifications and ensure flawless handling of customs facilities. Before your hatching eggs are transported, the conditioned trucks are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

    Conditioned Transport

Getting the transport temperature just right, keeping the vehicles clean, and planning carefully are key to moving hatching eggs. Lafaut guarantees this with data-driven logistics, certified poultry drivers, and modern vehicles equipped with the latest climate systems. We keep your hatching eggs in top condition all the way.

Four generations of passion for poultry

Choosing Lafaut? You’re choosing a family business that’s been committed to delivering top-notch quality for four generations.

This commitment started in the 1940s when our great-grandfather, Gerard Lafaut, set up a farm with 600 laying hens. His son, Azair, had the vision to hatch the eggs from his father’s hens into chicks.

Now, with Koen, Angela, and Maxim—the third and fourth generations—at the helm, Lafaut is expanding into the global export of hatching eggs and day-old chicks. As an independent family-owned company, we're quick, efficient, and competitive.

We still produce a significant portion of our hatching eggs ourselves. That means you're buying directly from the source, with no unnecessary middlemen. Together with our equal, long-term collaborations with Western European breeders, we offer integrations across the globe a steady supply of high-quality hatching eggs.
